On behalf of the 6th Annual ARC Conference Planning Committee, it’s my privilege to welcome you to sunny San Diego, California and to present the engaging speakers and activities that the Committee has developed to help you advance the readiness and resiliency of your communities!

This year’s theme, “From Concept to Action: Building Coalitions with VA & Veterans,” focuses on efforts by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and other organizations to work at the local level to improve our Nation’s preparedness and response activities. Distinguished interdisciplinary speakers will explain how the VA and other healthcare organizations can deliver timely, high-quality care to Veterans, their families, and their communities during emergencies and disasters.

Panel sessions will highlight case studies and applied evidence-based practices that exemplify how a healthcare system can deliver health services pre-, mid- and post-crises. The panels will provide a platform for interactive discussions on access and patient care, global health preparedness, emergency management metrics and standards, mental health resilience, and other thought-provoking topics. To view the entire Conference program, please visit the Workshop and Program schedule.

Our thanks go to the presenters, partners, supporters, and sponsors without whom this event would not be possible.  Your contributions allow us to fulfill ARC’s mission of supporting and sharing evidence-based tools and practices throughout the emergency management community.

I would also like to thank this year’s attendees for your role in making this conference possible. Your knowledge and expertise are invaluable in improving community resilience across both this nation and the globe.

I look forward to meeting and speaking with you during the conference, as we work together to spread and implement innovative emergency management practices and tools.
